An 1897
Boarding House
Located in the heart of downtown Waynesville, the
"Gateway to the Smokies," Herren House Bed
and Breakfast provides the perfect spot for a
getaway to the beautiful North Carolina Great Smoky
Mountains.
Only one block to downtown Waynesville, minutes to
Maggie Valley, North Carolina, and thirty minutes to
Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. It is an excellent area
for hiking, bicycling, rafting, trout fishing and exploring
waterfalls.
Herren House is a special place combining
Victorian charm with a casual country cottage feel.
This unique 19th century boarding house has been
completely restored and offers all the modern
conveniences that will make your stay comfortable.
It has a beautiful garden area with a gazebo looking
out over the surrounding mountains and a huge old-fashioned wrap around porch,
perfect for quiet relaxation or socializing with
friends and other guests.
The Herren House is the closest B&B to downtown
Waynesville, the most charming main street in
Western North Carolina with a variety of
restaurants, upscale shops and art galleries galore.
A unique feature of Herren House is its elegant
restaurant, open on Thursday and Saturday nights
most of the year to
its guests and the public (by reservation only).
Each week, innkeepers Jenny and Tom Halsey prepare
and serve four and five course gourmet dinners that are
considered by many to be the finest to be found in
the area.
Indeed, a special place filled with some of the
nicest and friendliest guests in the world. |
